The Rating System: Skip It. Read It. Own It.

It is very simple. Instead of using a star rating system which I find to be ambiguous (what does each star really mean?), I opted for the far more straightforward: Skip it, Read it, Own it tags. I believe this is a far more explanatory way to rate books and directly let readers know whether the book is recommended. I have seen this type of system on other sites and I like it much better.

Simple, right?

Each review will be tagged with one of the above ratings so that even if you skim or don’t read the review, you can still get a sense of what I thought about the book. There is an overwhelming abundance of reading across several mediums competing for our precious attention at any given time, day or night. My rating system allows me the ability to be brutally honest about which books I view worth the time. I fully realize that this all based upon my opinion as a thoughtful and very experienced reader and reviewer. However, this is not to say that there will be those who disagree with me, sometimes vehemently.

So there you have it, a simple and straightforward rating system to accompany the reviews on this site.
